This past month I experienced one of the greatest exchanges known to mankind. The greatest exchange, of course, is salvation – our sin and death exchanged for Jesus’ forgiveness and eternal life. Related to that, the exchange I am talking about in this testimony is how I traded my sickness for the health and healing that Jesus bought for me when he died on the cross.
At the end of September, I began experiencing an annoying cough. I prayed and believed for healing but after several days I sought medical care, and medication was prescribed. Like the woman in Mark 5, I did not improve but steadily grew worse. I ended up in the hospital with Acute Respiratory Failure and Pneumonia.
This testimony is not to glorify Satan’s work but the power and anointing of God’s preservation. If you have not read Pastor’s Hank’s book, “The Anointing of Preservation,” I highly encourage you to do so. God’s anointing and the prayers of believers including my husband, Pastor Doug, preserved me.
I felt so extremely sick that, in the natural, I did not know that I would survive. But this is where the great exchange came into play. Several times daily, while I was gasping for air despite all the medical intervention I had, Pastor Doug and I went into the Court Room of Heaven, before my righteous judge and my advocate, Jesus, to plead my case.
I have no righteousness on my own but according to Col 2:14, Jesus canceled out every legal violation on my record. He deleted all my sins and sicknesses including Acute Respiratory Failure and Pneumonia. He took all my sicknesses and nailed them forever to the cross. In exchange, He gave me health and healing, and he gave it to you as well.
It has been a journey, but every day I feel the blood of my precious Savior flowing through my body and the Wind of God in my lungs. It brings tears to my eyes when I think of how God preserved my life. If you are facing a health challenge, or any type of impossible situation, I encourage you to put your trust in what Jesus already paid for you with his death and resurrection.
Here are two scriptures you can stand on:
-
Psalms 103:3 (BSB) says Jesus, “forgives all your iniquities and heals all your diseases.”
-
Colossians 2:14-15 (NLT) says Jesus, “canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.”
