Are there titles you have longed for, or God-inspired dreams he has given you, but you have not yet obtained? Are there titles you have chased after that are the result of thinking you need to be like someone else? Your title is what describes your position or area of responsibility.
We should always have role models that we pattern our lives after. In 1 Cor. 11, Paul instructs the church, “Follow me as I follow Christ.” However, God also wants you to be you and not someone else. Nor does he want you to have an expectation for yourself that he has not given you.
If you have a dream or desire for something you have not yet obtained, be faithful in the titles God has currently given you. As you are faithful in the present, he will promote you and open doors for you to obtain the titles you desire.
Do you currently have a title such as employer or employee, spouse, friend, encourager, pray-er, parent, or daughter/son? Sometimes we get caught up in our goals and dreams, even the God-inspired ones, that we miss the significance of our current season or the responsibilities that God has currently placed before us.
Our first and most important title if we are followers of Christ is Christian. Pastor ank has been Hank has been preaching a series about honoring God. Part of honoring God includes honoring the people and the responsibilities or titles he has given us. Is your title “Mom” to a toddler or teenager? You may not be receiving a big paycheck for that title, but nothing in your life is more important than raising that child to love and honor God.
Romans 12:6 NLT says, “In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well.” Each of us are unique with the assignments God has given us. You may think your title is insignificant, but only you can hold that title and accomplish what God has given you to do. Take courage, as you are faithful in your present assignments, God will open new doors for you.
